Introduction:

On March 18, 2014, 64-year-old retiree Luo Weixiao embarked on an epic journey from Dengchigou. Over 115 grueling days, he cycled an astonishing 15,000 kilometers along the Silk Road through eight countries, overcoming countless hardships. His mission: to revisit the hometown of naturalist Armand David in France and pay homage to the original giant panda specimen preserved there. More than a physical feat, Luo's pilgrimage became a cultural phenomenon—passionately promoting China's panda diplomacy, sparking a "Chinese whirlwind" across France, and ultimately etching an indelible grassroots Chinese legacy at the prestigious National Museum of Natural History in Paris.

This book chronicles Luo Weixiao's extraordinary 15,000-kilometer westward journey as its narrative backbone, vividly depicting the epic expedition's breathtaking adventures, heart-wrenching twists, tear-jerking moments, and delightful humor along the way. Innovatively promoting panda culture while three-dimensionally showcasing the natural landscapes and cultural heritage of Silk Road countries, the work establishes remarkable textual depth and breadth. Combining strong educational value with entertaining storytelling, it achieves exceptional readability and intellectual richness.
