Introduction:

This book is an accessible historical work exploring Chinese jade culture. Divided into seven chapters and sixty-four lectures, it features hundreds of precious artifact photographs and draws on both historical records and archaeological findings to examine jade objects from the Neolithic Age to the Qing Dynasty. The book illuminates jade's evolving significance throughout Chinese civilization - from its embryonic beginnings through development, integration, and eventual flourishing - while decoding jade's unique cultural DNA and inherent civilizational characteristics.

As the most distinctive symbol in Chinese culture, jade-centered traditions have permeated China's entire historical trajectory, becoming an indispensable component of its cultural identity. Through tracing jade culture's developmental journey, this publication aims to preserve and promote the enduring allure of this artistic legacy.
